About the event
Originally Lee's band, the Beautitones, was based in Venice, Italy. Lee Holmes & the B.C. Boys, the current Canadian band, features Randy Jakob on drums and Paul Taylor on guitar. Don’t Hesitate, his fifth CD was released May 1, 2023. All songs are original by the Pierini/Holmes writing team.
For years in Canada, Lee was an in-demand bassman. Today, Lee is renown for his distinctive natural blues voice as well as his bass playing.
Lee is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a graduate of the music program at Capilano University in North Vancouver. While living in western Canada, he toured across the country with many bands until 1987. For the next sixteen years, living in Northern Ontario, Lee developed his vocal chops playing with Blues guitarist Mike Burton in the Hurtin Blues Band. Together they toured the North playing many local festivals and recorded three cds.
As a co-founder of the Porquis Blues Festival in Northern Ontario, Lee had the opportunity to play with many of Canada's top blues musicians: Amos Garrett, Kenny Blues Boss Wayne, Michael Pickett, Jack De Keyser, Dutch Mason, Julian Fauth, David Rotundo, Dylan Wickens and Michael Fonfara of Downchild fame. In 2015 he toured in Europe with Sue Foley.
